My Question or Issue
So this week I started noticing that some of my playlists have wrong thumbnails assigned to them. Usually the album cover art of the first four tracks on a playlist will be on the thumbnail. In this case however one of the four covers will not appear and instead show the album cover of the fifth track. It was already annoying enough that they didn't show up in order, but now it will randomly assign the cover on the thumbnail and that is really annoying. Even more so since I pay for this service. This problem appears on the desktop app as well as in the web player. On iPhone the thumbnails are okay for the moment.
Hey there @hotlegs,
Thank you for your post here in the Community.
Can you create a new playlist with the first 10 songs in the playlist this happen on and see if it's the same behavior?
If the playlist is official, can you search on the playlist from another account to see if the issue persist?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
I tried making a new playlist with the first ten songs but it happened again:
Hey @hotlegs,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
It's worth running a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps you'll find here. This can be helpful to remove any cached files that might be causing trouble.
We'd also like to know if this happens with all your playlists or just some of them. Can you send us the URI of a couple of them so we can take a better look on our end?
On another note, remember that you can set the playlist cover of your choice by following the steps in this article.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Thanks for the quick response. I've done a fresh install following those steps but the problem persists. Here are some other playlists that have the same problem:

spotify:playlist:660Lcm9wQEq6EVHktf8OcZ

Hey there again @hotlegs,
Thank you for your reply and for the playlists URI:s.
We checked this from our end and everything looks like it should.
Can you log in with another account - such as a friend's or a family member's on the device this occurs on to see if the issue persist?
Keep us posted 🙂 We're always one reply away.
Take care!
I've logged into another account and new playlists I create don't all have the same problem but some do.
Hi @hotlegs,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Just to confirm, is this happening when you log into your account using a different device?
Also, do you notice any difference with another internet connection?
Keep us posted.
I am using another account on the same device. Currently, cause of the pandemic, I can't try on another device that isn't an iPhone.
Hey @hotlegs,
Thanks for getting back to us 🙂
It's a good idea to check if the issue occurs when you try using the web player.
Just to confirm- does the issue persist when you try with another network?
Let us know how it goes. If you have questions, you know where to find us.
Yes, the issue persists both on another network and when using the web player. The iPhone app works okay though
Hey again @hotlegs,
Thanks for your reply.
We tried to reproduce this from our end, but all the album artwork shows correctly.
Would you mind trying to replace the first song (Reasons Left to Destroy) to see if you notice any difference?
You could also try putting another song at the top of the playlist to see if it works, leaving this specific one out of the 4 first songs.
Let us know how it goes.
Hi there @hotlegs,
Thank you for your reply and confirmation. We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far.
Can you create a new account and create a new playlist to see if the issue persist? This will help us understand if it's account related or not.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Cheers!
Hello,
I am having the exact same problem. I also pay for Spotify Premium, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. In fact, after the reinstalling the app, the problem became even worse- previously, only one of my playlists was appearing incorrectly in the thumbnail, but now they all are. However, the problem only appears with regards to my recently played playlists on my home screen when I first open the app. In my library, the playlists all appear as they should.
Your help would be much appreciated,
Thanks.
Hey @Ca98,
Can you let us know if this is happening on all your devices?
Also, try logging in with a different account and check if you experience the same issue.
Adding some screenshots to your reply would also be helpful.
Keep us posted.
Hello,
It is an issue on the three devices I have spotify on (phone, laptop, and Roku). Attached are some screenshots from my phone. I do not have another account to use to see if it is an issue for those accounts as well.
Hey @Ca98,
Thanks for the reply.
In order to investigate this further, could you send us:

Hi there @Ca98,
Thank you for your reply.
Can you put a playlist cover picture and then remove it to see if it syncs?
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
