Private playlist

Private playlist

My Question or Issue

My private playlist says that I own a small amount of the songs in it and that someone else has added a majority of the songs. This doesn't make sense as my playlist has always been private. I also remember adding all the music myself but says some other person has.

It is annoying seeing this user's name every time I open my playlist.

Hello @salyani123
Nice to hear from you.

Making a playlist private means other users can't find it in search or on your profile.

But with, the new update, it's possible to have collaborators for a private playlist, it's visible only to you and that person.

The first pic shows my playlist, it's public. Once I open the menu,I have an option to "Make private" at the bottom.

The second picture shows that it'll still be visible to collaborators afterwards.

Also in the second pic, there's an option to "Add to other playlist". You can use that to easily create a new one for yourself and set it to private. Then delete the one where there appears to be an unauthorized user.

I hope this helps 💚

Thank you.

Yeah. I had to create another playlist. I realized that somewhere down the line I had synced my spotify account with 3rd party software and figured that was the cause. Thanks for the reply.

You're welcome @salyani123

I don't think many people are aware of the risk the third party apps bring so,if you don't mind, you could mark the response as a solution to make it easy to find 🙂

Thanks and have a great day 💚
