Queue broken + can't roll back to older versions

Queue broken + can't roll back to older versions

Plan: Premium

Country: United States (have the US version of Spotify but am currently living in Japan, if that matters)

Device: 2019 MacBook Pro

Operating System: macOS Monterey

Hello,

Due to an ongoing issue with Spotify limiting the desktop queue to 81 songs and skipping/deleting newly added songs from the queue, I have been using an older version of Spotify for some time (I'm not sure exactly what version, but it was likely a version from before February 2023). Today, Spotify crashed and when it rebooted, it had updated to the newest version, and the issues with the queue had returned. I attempted to install an older version of Spotify as before, but every time I open up the Spotify app I downloaded (regardless of the version), it displays the newest version of the Spotify app and the issues with my queue remain. I have quick reinstalled and clean reinstalled several times using the instructions on the website and the result is always the same. Is there a workaround to this?

Hi there @chiiiii,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

The issues you're experiencing with the queue, could be happening due to a number of factors. Please check the following:

  • Make sure your Play Queue is cleared before playing music. You can clear it by clicking the Queue button > Clear queue. This option should be available on Desktop and Mobile.
  • Make sure that Enhance is switched off. This button will appear on top of your playlist. If it's turned on (green) it will automatically add similar songs to your playlist.
  • Make sure Shuffle and Smart Shuffle is turned off.

We don't recommend using older versions of the app which can be found online in third-party websites, because they often contain viruses or malware, which can be used to extract your personal data.

Hope this helps.
