My Question or Issue

Spotify now plays the same few songs in all of my playlist radios, regardless of genre. In addition, the radio has stopped recommending new music.

Steps to reproduce

1. Listen to a lot of a certain genre of music (e.g. folk)

2. Open playlist radio on various playlists of different genres

Expected result:

The radio for each playlist would contain songs of the appropriate genre, some that I've already heard or added and some that I haven't heard yet

Actual result:

The radio for every playlist (regardless of genre) consists largely of the same folk songs in addition to the songs already on the playlist. The radio rarely recommends songs of the appropriate genre that I haven't heard or added yet.

Playing the radio for a folk playlist just shows me the same songs I've already added to my library over and over again.

Hi there @mateoeh,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

The way songs in Radio and recommendations are generated is largely based on your listening habits. To influence the algorithm make sure Private session is turned off and that you're listening to songs and artists via the Search function as well. Keep in mind that if you're listening to recommendation playlists and Radio only, the pool of recommended songs might not update as often.

Here are a few more thing you can try:

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have more questions.
