My Question or Issue

Recently, about a week ago, my Spotify started acting weird. Discover Weeklys, Daily Mixes, and On Repeats that don't belong to me/have artists or songs I don't listen too started appearing on my home tab. Even more recently, my own On Repeat playlist started having songs I've never once listened to.

When I first noticed the issue, I reset my password, selecting the option that would log me out of any devices with my account on them, but the issue persisted. I don't share my account with anyone, no family, no friends. So why is it that other users content is appearing in my home tab and songs I've never listened to are appearing on my On Repeat?

Pictures: My On Repeat playlist with songs I've never listened to, a Daily Mix that isn't mine, and a Discover Weekly that isn't mine.

Hey @Blizzard9304,

Thanks for posting in the Community and the actions you've already tried.

It seems like your account may be compromised. It'd be best to secure it through the steps on this page. As for the "Made for you" playlists, they'll heal over time and get back to the state before the intrusion and will reflect your music taste.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thank you for the reply! My account seems to be as secure as it can be (per the steps and standards of the link you provided), I'll reset my password and additional time and hope the effects of the intrusion clear up.

Hi there @Blizzard9304.

Thanks for your reply.

We've taken a deeper look and we do see the screenshots you sent show Made for and then different usernames/profile names. Do you recognize them or have you maybe changed your profile name recently?

In any case, besides securing your account with the steps provided before, we'd suggest reinstalling the app on your device with these steps. No worries, you won't lose any content by doing so. Also, log in with your account from a different device or the Web Player and let us know if your Daily Mixes and On Repeat playlists look the same from there.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!

Thank you for the continued support, I don't recognize the usernames, they do not belong to me. One username that appeared on a made for you playlist that wasn't mine I was actually able to find the account of through searching on Spotify, so these are real accounts.

Something to consider is that the Recommended Radio, Recently Played, and New Episodes sections on the app still reflect my taste in music/artists/podcasts. I don't know if this information is helpful at all.

And yes, the Daily Mixes and On Repeat playlists look the same when I log into my account either on my computer or phone. I will try your advice of reinstalling the app.

Hi @Blizzard9304,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any third-party apps connected to your Spotify account? You can also see this on the account page and also revoke access if necessary. Also, do you use any smart speakers with your account? Both of these things can sometimes cause unusual behaviour, so if you have any of those, try disconnecting them and see if that makes a difference.

Let us know how it goes.

Exact same thing with the exact same username happening to me, Vitto, shows me their daily mixes, release radar etc, then shows me their random radio stations but says made for my username.  I have reset the account, cleared cache and reinstalled twice now. Screenshots attached for vitto

Any help would be greatly appreciated

@susan_GP having the exact same issue and same username lists showing too

Hi there @Pete8686,

Thank you for your reply in this thread and for the info provided.

We'll need to gather more info about what's happening first. If you log in with your account on a different device or the Web Player, can you still see those same playlists? Additionally, let us know if you've already tried the security suggestions given by @Joan and @Dian in our previous replies.

Lastly, send over the make, model, and OS version of your device and the Spotify version you're running.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
