Songs disliked on desktop not syncing to mobile

Songs disliked on desktop not syncing to mobile

My Question or Issue

Any songs I've disliked on my Discover Weekly on desktop (macOS Big Sur) do not sync to my phone.  When I open the playlist on my phone, all of the songs are still visible and are not skipped. This is super annoying because it prevents curating my Discover Weekly except for on my computer. The hide song functionality on iOS is absolute trash, I have no reason to hide a song instead of just disliking it, and it isn't behaving the same as the "dislike" feature.

Hey @laura_m,

Thanks for getting in touch with us 🙂

The songs might still be visible after being disliked. Just to double-check- when you click on a disliked song, does it start playing?

In case you can still play it or it's not being skipped, could you give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall on both devices? This one is more thorough then the usual one.

If the issue persists, it's a good idea to try with another account to see if anything changes.

Hi, it does appear to skip the disliked songs on my device. However, it is super confusing that the songs still appear (without any disabled UI indication like on desktop) because then it just seems like the app isn't responding when I click on a disliked song on my phone.

any update on this?  Exactly the same problem

Hi there @lievenboes,

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

There haven't been any updates regarding this and although the dislike status syncs and the song is skipped in the background, syncing the visual elements of the interface between the devices has not been implemented yet and we don't have a concrete timeline for this.

Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Any update on a timeline for this? All of the pieces are already there for this to work correctly. Android and Desktop are syncing the disliked song info between themselves already, android has UI graphics already implemented for a disliked song. Why can't the trigger to show the disliked icon not just be linked to the shared/synced dislike property that is already there between the two? I've coded enough to know that this should take an intern about an hour, put in an OR statement on the dislike UI element to look at whatever the synced dislike property is.  wth spotify???

+1 very annoying UX, makes me wonder if apple music or youtube music have this issue

2 years since then and no updates? I really start to thinking about YT music
