My Question or Issue

I'm aware that there are issues with songs getting added to playlists, but as far as I know that's only when they're extremely short in length. I have a playlist that I've been updating since 2018, currently around 300+ songs. I listened to it today and I noticed there were some songs that should not be in the playlist, stuff I didn't add. It also looks like songs that were already in the playlist are getting re-added? Just showing that they got newly added to it when the have been in it for months if not longer. It was sorta like another one of my playlists got merged into it, that's not really something accidental I could have done. It might just be a disconnect between the application on the desktop and the web browser version of Spotify because they show different things. This is a link to the playlist, I cleared all (I think) of the songs that got added but I don't really know what's going on with it, https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7hSOJaX2RB6LD1iqcfZnWb .

Hey @operationevil,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Would you mind trying the following to see if any potential synchronization issues between the Desktop app and the Web Player version of your account get fixed?

  1. Perform a clean reinstall of the app on your Windows 10 PC
  2. Log out (if needed) then back in to your account using the Web Player.

If you suspect that someone might be accessing your account in an unauthorized way to edit your playlists, it'd be great to bookmark and follow the steps in this support page article as well as this one since they feature some essential info regarding how to keep the safety of your account up-to-date.

Hope you'll find this useful. We'll keep an eye on your reply in case there's anything else we can help with!

I'm not under the impression someone else is using my account. It just seems as though my playlist was getting songs added to it from other playlists I have without my doing, if you're catching my drift. And re logging and reinstalling didn't fix it.

Hey @operationevil,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

If you confirm that the songs unexpectedly added were not included in the Recommended menu at the bottom of the playlist and that you didn't accidentally added them from this menu, then it'd be good to wait and see if you still experience what you reported after a number of days.

Although you're not under the impression someone else is using your account, it'd be great to follow all the steps featured in the previously mentioned articles if you notice unexpected actions taken with your Spotify.

Let us know how you get on. We'll look out for your reply!

so from what I can tell is that it's adding the songs I listen to to the playlist. https://imgur.com/a/VcZjlec . I know there's something with playlists that spotify adds songs to them but as far as I know that's only when they're extremely small. Like I have the playlist going and it's re-adding songs to it that are already in it and adding songs I listen to that aren't in the playlist to it. I'm unsure if there's an auto add button or tool or option or something but that sounds like what it is.
