Hi, I have about 30 local songs across two playlists and all but 5 have been removed. All songs are still on my hard drive but have been removed from the local files section within the Spotify desktop app. Is Spotify going through MY music and looking for copyrighted music and removing music from MY local files? I would really appreciate an explanation. Thanks.

Hi there @martinweiss,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
This seems odd and we'd like to investigate this further.
Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
On another note, even though some other file types might work, these are the ones that the feature is designed to work with:
.mp3
.m4p (unless it contains video)
.mp4 (if QuickTime is installed on your computer)
.m4a (unless it’s an Apple lossless file; ALAC or ALE)
Another useful step is to change the source folder of the local files on the pc. The steps are: Uninstall Spotify on both devices > create a new folder somewhere else on the pc and move the local files there > install Spotify again > remove any potential source folders and add the new one > download the playlist again.
Keep us posted 🙂
Take care!
The songs loaded on my phone but not my computer now. What could the issue be?

Hey, thanks for the reply. I had to tell Spotify what folder to pull the songs from in settings. This worked. All the songs came back. Odd that this happened, and more so that some songs stayed on my computer, and all were on my phone. I didn't touch the files or anything they just changed. All good now, thanks!
Hey @martinweiss,

Have a good day and stay safe!
All my files were deleted as well. When I tried to copy them back, they reappeared at the bottom of the playlist, but then they automatically got deleted one by one again. I've already tried everything, including clearing the cache and doing a clean install, but nothing has worked. Please fix this issue!
