Spotify on tesla wont play my liked songs in the order that are shown

Hi,

Spotify on my Tesla won't play my liked songs in the order they are in the playlist. Shuffle is off, and there is no problem when playing other playlists. There are 700 songs in my liked songs playlist, and whenever I skip a song or a song finishes, it skips 10 or so songs and plays the next one. It is very frustrating and has been going on for a year or so. I thought maybe it was because I had 9,000 songs in my liked songs, and I deleted most of them, but the problem is not solved. I tried logging off and logging in again, and it's not working either. Please help. Also i had to reduce video file size significantly to upload it here so the quality is not very good.

Hey @dernullstein, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I tried to replicate this issue on my Tesla and couldn’t. No worries— we’ll get to the bottom of this.

Can you try restarting your Tesla touchscreen? You can restart it following these steps:

  1. Shift into Park.
  2. Hold down both scroll buttons on the steering wheel until the touchscreen turns black.
  3. After a few seconds, the Tesla logo appears. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the touchscreen to restart.

If that doesn’t work, can you also make sure that other devices connected to your Spotify account aren’t interfering while you’re selecting music in your Tesla?

Keep me posted.

Hey Biily, thanks for your reply. I'v forgot to state that i restarted my tesla multiple times before but i can try again when i drive. And for the interference part, i have my phone, my laptop and 2 smart speakers connected to my spotify account but none of them can change playing order without me doing it or i think so.

Hey @dernullstein

Thanks for getting back to me! Let me know what happens after you complete the restart.

If that doesn’t work, can you try creating a test account here? Then, log out and then log in to the Spotify app on the Tesla. That way, I can see if this issue is device-related or account-related.

Let me know how that goes.

Hey billy,

i just tried restarting but the problem persists. Also i couldnt select songs with a free account because it wouldnt let me. But i tried signing in with another tesla and same problem was there. And the order the songs play is the same like in my tesla it jumps 15 songs then 8 than 13, it was the same on the other tesla too. So i guess its a problem with spotifys playlist ordering system. But i shoud add there is no problem when im listening on any other device.

Hey @dernullstein,

Thanks for the reply!

Can you try connecting to the Tesla with Bluetooth instead of using the Spotify app on it directly to see if that makes a difference? Another thing I'd suggest is removing Tesla from your apps on your account page here and re-linking it again afterwards.

Keep us posted.
