My Question or Issue

This was first reported in 2017, and it is marked as solved but it is not.

Once you activated to index/search local files, you are stuck with it. Disabling it will not stop Spotify, as the village **bleep** in our company found out today.

He thought it was smart to install Spotify on a server to relax while working, set the local file flag (heavens knows why), thought better about it (as we have Teras of locally produced music files), disabled it and went on with his life. IT was brought in when our NAS suddenly suffered from low performance!!

To their surprise, they found a process called Spotify having fun on the music files!

We removed Spotify from the server (which it wasn't supposed to be to start with), and out of curiosity, I tested it on my local machine, and sure enough, same behaviour.

There is a report about this from 2017 that says deleting local-files.bnk stops Spotify to go nuts, and it indeed works. But 4 years after it is still there.

Let me know if you need a lended dev to go put a IF<turn off local flag> THEN <delete "local-files.bnk">. 😉

Anyway, I hope this helps pinpoint the issue.

Have fun, stay safe!
