My Question or Issue
A while ago Spotify stopped playing some songs on my PC. When I hit play it would just sit there and the play area at the bottom would be blank. If I added the song to my library, by hitting the heart icon, or adding it to a playlist, it would play straight away. I have Spotify with the same account on my laptop, Android phone and iPad, all of which play fine and do not have this issue.
I have found other people having the same problem, and I've tried the suggested fixes, reinstalling (with a reboot between installation), deleting data in App Data, but it hasn't fixed my problem.
Any further ideas???

Hi there @SteveArch,
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry to hear that this still doesn't work.
The issue is most likely arising from some networking ports being blocked by one of your firewalls or anti-virus packages. The issue could also be caused by VPN or private tunnel, since those re-route network traffic.
What you can try, if you've downloaded the app from the MS store, try using the app from our website or vice versa. Even though the MS store app is more optimized, it can cause issues on some machines.
Another thing worth mentioning is disabling any Proxy from the Spotify app settings:
Hope this helps.
Hey @SteveArch ,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this!
It sounds like you've tried a couple of things already, but let's try some more troubleshooting. Here are a few other things which may help you solve this:
In case the issue persists, it'd be great if you could tell us the exact make and model of the affected device, its operating system, as well as the Spotify version you're currently running. Any screenshots or a quick video you can provide will also be helpful to identify what's causing the issue.
Hope something here helps and does the trick for you, reach out if you need more help!
Thanks for replying. In Windows Defender firewall I've set Spotify to Public & Private, previously it was only on Private. It seems to be playing stuff OK, but it's such a random thing as to which tracks don't play I#ll have to use it for a bit to see if it's fixed
it
Cheers
Steve
AND it's not playing songs! I've whitelisted it for anti virus and adblockers, I'd already checked the hosts files, Spotify doesn't appear there.
Using the web app, all songs play fine. I've just checked a song that wasn't playing on the app and that track plays fine on the web app. Going back to the app, the track still won't play.

I'm connected to my work server via a VPN, I disconnected it and the tracks that weren't playing now play, so it looks like that's the solution.
THANK YOU!
