Tracks from already saved albums showing up in release radar, but clicking them shows album unsaved.

Solved!

Tracks from already saved albums showing up in release radar, but clicking them shows album unsaved.

I use the spotify API to cut out anything from my release radar I already have saved before and I notice that depite saving certain albums I still find tracks from the exact same album, except when I click the track link from release radar it shows I haven't saved "this" album, like it's not the same one I've already saved.

This is only for certain artists.   2-4 tracks per rr.

When I go back to the artist's page and view albums I have saved for them, there is the identical album of the track and clicking it shows it is saved just like I left it.

This is extremely annoying to someone who is paying attention to their music collection.

Looks like I'll have to start working around this b.s. in my code now by not trusting what the API is telling me when I ask it if the album is already in my saved albums list..

I think it's pretty obvious what is going on here and it sullies spotify in my eyes even more than it already was.  This is not a difficult problem to fix from a technical standpoint, but is probably not easy to fix from a financial standpoint for spotify.

Now I've written code specifically to detect for this and other attempts by spotify to push artists on me that have no business in my recommendations.  Basically if spotify is recommending me anything, it is highly suspect of being some direct payment paid to spotify to be there v.s. an actual recommendation based off historical listening history.
