I have set the playlist order on the left column to “Custom Order” and I’ve ordered them the desired way I want them to show up on my profile, however, these changes never reflect on the right column or in my Public Playlists on my profile. I’ve tried everything. I have a set of playlists that forces itself to the top no matter what. Idk what’s different about these playlists that causes them to stay on the top when they aren’t on the left side.
I’ve tried pinning the playlists, unpinning them, including the playlists in a folder, taking them out of the folder, removing them from my profile and re-adding them again, trying different orders, nothing makes the changes reflect.
What’s going on? Anything I'm missing?
Solved! Go to Solution.
What worked for me in case anyone runs into this issue:
I had to set the sorting to Custom (again),
I unpinned all playlists and folders (again. for some reason the pins were blocking the order it seems),
Rearranged the folders (again),
Then re-pinned the folders I wanted pinned. Closed the app, reopened. And it MAGICALLY, FINALLY applied to the public profile. I still don't know why exactly, since I've done this before, but all is well now!
Thanks for the help!
Hey @rbt22,
Thanks for reaching out!
The pins aren't taken into account for the playlists that are shown on your profile, they simply provide easier access to your favorites, so try unpinning all items and changing the order again to see if that does the trick. Also, make sure the playlist you want to display are all set to public and have been added to your profile from the three dots menu.
If the playlists are located in folders, the position of the playlist and location of the folder itself both play a role in how the playlists are ordered on your profile, so this is something worth checking.
In any case, a couple of screenshots which show how Your Library and your profile look would be greatly appreciated and would help us investigate further.
Cheers 🤘
Thanks so much for the response!
Yep! my playlists are public, they’re already on my public profile, as stated, just not in the order they’re in my library on the left side. 😞
I’ve also already tried taking the playlists out of the folders, arranging them, closing the app, reopening, they’re still in the wrong order on my public profile (even if that did work, that means I wouldn’t be able to properly use the folders feature, which would suck, too, unless I’m missing something there, too).
I’ve also tried different sorting (Recents, recently added, custom…) and they stay in the same order each time.
In the screenshot attachment, I have the playlists sorted for Recently Added. I’d love for them to show up on my public profile like that, but you can see I have 2 rows of other playlists on top of the most recently added ones that stay there no matter what. The playlists under the top 2 rows are legitimately recently added, the two rows on top are actually pretty old, made and updated long ago.
What am I missing?!??!
THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for the reply @rbt22!
I see what you mean now. The thing is that the playlists shown on your profile will always follow the Custom order you've set in Your Library (i.e. the left column). While sorting by Custom order, the very first playlist at the top of Your Library will be the first one to appear on your profile.
On the screenshot you've sent you're sorting by Recently added, so that's why there's a mismatch between the two. If this is how you'd like the playlists to show up on your profile, you'll need to set the order to Custom and manually rearrange them by dragging & dropping at the desired location. I can see that they are in a folder, so in this case, try moving the folder to the top - that should do the trick.
There's a detailed guide on how to use the Your Library sidebar here, so feel free to check it out, if you haven't already.
Hope this clears things up. Cheers 💚
Thanks!
Thanks!
