My Question or Issue

I converted an old free account to a new premium family account. I also had another, more recent free account, and from there I dragged playlists to the desktop and imported them into the new family account. They show there and play OK. But when I try to drag new songs into these imported playlists  they grey out. If I right click and select 'add to playlist', only the playlists that were in the old free account show up and my imported ones are missing from the list.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hello @johnagio

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

You'd have to add those songs to a playlist on your current account (instead of e.g. just using the heart button on it) to be able to edit it. You can create a new playlist for them as well.

The easiest way is to use a desktop app:

  • select all using keyboard CMD+A (Mac) or CTRL+A (Windows),
  • drag them to the +New Playlist section

Then the playlist will be associated with your current account and you should be able to add songs to it.

If the playlist is already on your current account and you're still not able to edit it, I'd still recommend moving the songs to a new playlist.

I hope it helps!
