My Question or Issue

Whenever I try to remove a playlist from my library, it shows the icon to add the playlist again and in a second it shows the icon that it has been added (meaning, it does not remove the playlist) the same when adding a playlist. It shows the icon that shows the playlist has been added and then it changes back again.

This happens on both the mobile app and desktop app. On the web player it shows the message that something went wrong.

I see this with playlists that are not created by me.

I can no longer reproduce the issue. I was able to:

  1. Remove a playlist I did not own and confirmed it does not show up on my library
  2. Add a playlist to my library that I do not own
  3. Create, edit, remove a playlist (created and owned by me)

I cannot see the playlists I created while we had this issue, same as steephh

Update: I recently saw the playlists I created while we were having this issue.

Thanks 👍

My Question or Issue

For the past week I haven’t been able to delete or unsave any playlists, everytime I do it just pops right back up as liked a second later and I can’t get rid of it. I’ve tried clearing cache on all devices, removing linked apps, deep clean uninstall and reinstall, logged out and back in, nothing works.

Hey @Mxddiesss,

Thanks for reaching out! Great troubleshooting so far 🙂
As you're mentioning that this happens on both the mobile app and on desktop, could you verify if the same thing happens when you use the Web Player? And, aside from this, we can try clearing the hosts file entries on the Mac. This can be done by following the steps here.

Hope this helps! Keep us posted 🙌🏼

Thank you for reaching out too! I tried clearing the host files on mac but there was nothing there for spotify so I’m assuming that’s good. And yes this problem is happening on the web player too.

Hey there @Mxddiesss,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

Just to confirm, if you log in with another account on the affected devices, do you experience the same? It'd be awesome if you could check. You can create a free test account to check if the issue persists there.

On another note, does this happen if you open your account on an Android device?  You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account there and check. This will help us to isolate this behavior further.

Lastly, would you mind sharing with us the exact Spotify version you're running on your devices?

Keep us in the loop!

Hi! I logged into my boyfriend’s account and was able to like and unlike the playlists fine. I tried it on android and still the same issues. and I’m currently running on 8.9.82.628 for both

Hey @Mxddiesss,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

As it worked properly on your boyfriend's account, it's possible that the behavior could be account-related as it's present on all devices you've tried. Keep in mind that having a huge amount of playlists liked or created on your library may affect the proper behavior of the app.

So in this case, since we don't have access to users' accounts from the Community to help you clean some content, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Support directly, so they can check your account and help you further.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.

I have this problem also, together with https://community.spotify.com/t5/Your-Library/Newly-created-playlists-aren-t-added-to-library/td-p/6...

@aprudencio: can you add normal playlists to your library?

@AlexHalex, wrong URL?

@steephh It seems I can create playlists but cannot find them in my library, I can find them through the URL as you can.

I tried all the recommendations given by Alex and no luck.

What's TS?

I'm having the exact same issues

I also have this issue.

If I try to make a playlist it won't appear in my list and goes away.

If I try to delete a playlist it disappears then reappears.

If I try to move a playlist up or down in my side bar it snaps back to the original position.

This occurs on windows desktop app, web app, iOS app.

I have tried:

Logging out of all devices.

Deleting cache.

Re-installing app on desktop and iOS.

None of this has worked so far.

My Question or Issue

I can't delete or add playlists to my library. Whether they were created by me or not. These haven't been liked by anyone so that isn't the issue. I logged out twice in a row on my iPhone and then did a clean reinstall. Using the in-browser desktop version doesn't work, tried using tab and the delete key. But "Something went wrong" is all I see.

i have the same issue on pc and android, cant create. delete or unfollow playlists

Hey folks,

Thank you for all the reports!

This issue is on our radars backstage and we'd like to ask anyone who hasn't already done so to send us the following details:

  • The affected devices and their make & model
  • Their OS versions
  • Their Spotify app versions

Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout for your replies 🙂

I just tried to create more playlists and it looks that I can create them again and they stay in "Your Library".  Thanks for the fix!

However, is there any way to retrieve the created playlists that were accessible in the meantime, but weren't added to Your Library? I've copied some really good playlists from the 3-hour changing daylist, would be great if I could find them back. 🙂

Thanks 👍

It's also working on Desktop (I did have to go to Help/Troubleshooting/Reset App Data and Restart and login again since the playlist I created on the app were not there and removed playlists were still visible in the library)

Also working on web player, no extra action needed. The playlist I created and added synced between apps.
