Unwanted, hidden duplicate song in playlist

Solved!

Unwanted, hidden duplicate song in playlist

Plan: Premium

Country: Finland

Device: (All)

Operating System: (All)

Issue:

I have a playlist with 30 songs. The playlist looks normal on desktop app, android app, and desktop webapp.

But when I'm on the mobile webapp or when I'm adding song to the playlist on android app, it shows 31 songs. There is a hidden duplicate song that can only be seen on the mobile webapp: The last song of the playlist is always duplicated, or if the playlist has more than 24 songs, the 24th song is the duplicated one.

If I clear the affected playlist, it will show 1 song (instead of 0). If I copy the playlist to another playlist, it will show songs correctly in the new playlist across all platforms. So the issue is with this one specific playlist.

The mobile webapp, where I can see the duplicate song, does not allow playlist editing, so I can not delete the duplicate. I would delete the playlist and start a new one, but some people have favorited the playlist and I don't want to let them down by deleting a playlist they like.

The duplicate song does not play on any of the platforms, so its impact on the user experience is small. But it does make it more difficult to keep track of how many songs I have in the playlist when I am editing the playlist, because in one place it shows one song more than in another place, and seeing the duplicate can be a bit confusing if using the mobile webapp.
