Where is the radio for my playlist?

Where is the radio for my playlist?

Hello,

I'm actively searching for a feature that allows me to start a playlist radio or something that offers a similar experience. So far, the closest I've found is the shuffle mode, but it only adds a few songs to the existing playlist, which isn't quite what I'm seeking. I'm eager to discover fresh music, including new songs by both familiar and unfamiliar artists. Now I have to manually explore each new song added to the shuffle playlist. The radio feature used to handle this quite well. For instance, if I had a playlist of American hip-hop, the radio would seamlessly play additional tracks from that genre.

However, this new shuffle mode is proving to be quite inconvenient.

I'm even considering leaving Spotify to try another service, as the current experience isn't meeting my needs. I didn't join Spotify to listen to the same tracks repeatedly. My goal is to explore and uncover new music, but it feels like Spotify is making this unnecessarily challenging.

So what are the alternatives (except Mix of the week)

Hey @lutscho,

Thanks for reaching out 🙌🏼

If you're referring to the playlist radio, it has been replaced by the Autoplay function.
There are, however, other options you might be interested in exploring:

  • The artist / song / album radios are still available! More info on that can be found here.
  • Under Search, you can also find the Discover genre.
  • And again, under Search, there's also the 'Made for You' section with all the Mixes you've mentioned inside 🙂

Aside from this, you can also use 'Smart Shuffle' function, although, as you already know, it only adds a new song recommendation after playing a few songs of your own.
Tip: This can, of course,  be bypassed by skipping through the songs already added to the playlist.

Hope this helps! And best of luck with your music discovery adventures 😄
We're here for you should any further questions come to mind.
