Why do I get recommendations in the middle of my playlist?

Why do I get recommendations in the middle of my playlist?

I'm listening to one of my playlists and suddenly a song starts that I know I don't have in that playlist. I check and it says it's a recommendation. I wouldn't mind in most playlist but some of them I have them to only listen to specific songs. How do I turn off the recommendations so they don't interrupt my playlist? I rather turn hem off in all my playlists than having them interrupt some playlists.

I'd liked 'Vampire' by Olivia Rodrigo 2 weeks ago. Spotify pushes her on me (1 in 9 songs are Vampire). Now I dislike her. You made me listen to her too often.

1 song in 50 or 60 is fine, but 1 in 10 is too much. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, etc. are going the same way. Can we go back to playlists actually playing 1 of my 5000+ songs. Is that too much to ask?

Hey there folks,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to confirm, are you currently subscribed to Premium? If so, we suggest checking if you have the Smart Shuffle feature switched on. When this feature is switched on, you'll see suggestion based on the songs that are already are in your playlist.

Shouldn't that do the trick, feel free to send us a video or screenshot showing how things look from your end, so that we can have a look as well.

If you're using the free service, however, you may see new songs being recommended in your playlists, as it's part of the app experience. It's worth mentioning that these recommendations are just suggestions, and they won't be permanently added to your playlist unless you actually add them.

We hope this clears things up! We're just a post away if anything else appears.

If I ban the artist from my playlist, how likely am I to download their tracks. It's counter-intuitive. It's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. I like many songs by Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Tate McRae, Ariana Grande, Billie Eillish (to name a few), but I've blocked them from playing for sheer over-playing.

Other artists I've blocked are too many to count (over 40). That was before I uninstalled & reinstalled. Twice. Fix your service & I will consider paying.

You're limping over the finish line & not considering we have alternatives.
