Why doesn't playlist stop shuffling when I click unshuffle?

My Question or Issue

Even when I disable the shuffle feature on a playlist, the songs still don't play in order and continue shuffling. I have seen people report the opposite problem (songs don't shuffle), and wanted some clarity on why this issue occurs.

Thanks for reaching out in the Community about this!

To clarify, can you first confirm this is happening on your Macbook Air and let us know the exact version of the installed operating system? You'll find it by clicking the Apple menu (top left corner of your screen) > About This Mac > Overview.

You should be able to toggle the shuffle mode on and off while using Spotify on a desktop device, so here are a few steps you can try if it's not working properly:

• Restart the Spotify app. 
• Log out and back in. 
• Check the app is up-to-date.
• Reinstall the app.
• Try playing on a different desktop device, or with the web player.

As a heads-up, it's good to remember you'll have shuffle-only access on your mobile (except certain On Demand playlists) when using our free service.
