Your Library icon moves unnessesarily and distracts/frustrates me

I'm a desktop user.

Since a few weeks the Your Library icon moves rapidly whenever I move my cursor to My Playlists. It distracts me very much and I don't see any value for it. Why should it move? I know where to find Your Library (because the text tells me this) and I use it maybe once a month. If I can enjoy Spotify again after the huge changes they came up with, I would hoover over or to 'My Playlists' maybe hundreds of times a day. Swiping songs and opening playlists. Each movement this Your Library thing distracts/frustrates me moving on top of the screen.

How can I lock this distracting 'Your Library' thing keep popping up and moving/opening while I try to do something else?

I also don't understand this new thing that gives horrible and loud sound in a pop-up and I don't know if it's normal that it gives bad sound and louder than my playlists and everything else I listen to. Only that unusefull thing gives the loud sound.

What's the value and use of the preview button at the top of a playlist in the first place? Can I get rid of the Preview a playlist that is already open to preview because it is open in front of you? I have a feeling it maybe ate less data and space when it was not there. Things were working smoothly. The update from 2/3 months ago started evrything going down hill. How is it possible that new things appear popping up/come visible in my desktop app days or weeks after an update? Is there an permission to an open connection and updates are integrated during a longer period? Should all these new things not pop up and appear directly after an update and not after opening and closing the app a fourty times after this update?

In my opinion these kind of (mobile/tablet) things should not be integrated on pc's Windows Desktop apps.

This is only to get people addicted scrolling instead of using a skip button. Because you know about all the addited scrollers in the world and the negative consequenses for your users. (Same as selling the 'air' via continuing subscriptions that the monopolists are 'selling', only to keep people paying long term for 'nothing' in the end... ) Maybe someone can explain me these are not heartless marketing tricks? I'm open to any transparent answer.

Besides that, all these new things look very 'childish' to me and I almost have more buttons on top of the playlists or in each corner listed (not hidden in one button/menu) than songs in my playlists. Hope a serious company as Spotify would also think of serious adult music listeners with an own opinion and time-management.

I use Windows Desktop app.

Hey @Lanciano007,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

The Your Library icon is part of a new feature that is still in its testing stages and the icon should only ''move'' when browsing through Your Library, but not open or close the whole view. This means the Library view itself should stay expanded or collapsed depending on how you left it. Is this the case for you, or does the whole left panel move?

We’re always testing possible improvements and new features, and the feedback you shared about the icon has been noted!

On another note, we are aware of the behavior you're describing regarding Previews and this is currently being looked into by our tech teams. We can recommend keeping the app up-to-date in the meantime, to get the latest fixes and features as soon as they're released. If you'd like, you can also keep an eye on this thread, where we'll share any news on the topic.

Cheers!
