My Question or Issue

I always add songs to multiple playlists at a time and I have my playlists sorted into multiple folders. The most recent update broke the Samsung back/"previous page" button so now when I use it to back out of a folder to add it to a different playlist in a different folder, it unregisters that I've added the song to the playlist within the folder I backed out of. When I use the built-in Spotify back arrow at the top left of the app, it works and the song will still add to the playlist after I back out. However, using the Samsung back button doesn't work anymore, when it worked perfectly before this most recent update.

Hi there @Lost_in_Reverie,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you get the library working as intended again.

This is quite odd and we haven't seen any other reports about such behaviour so far. Do you mean that when you press the back button, it removes any songs you added instead of going back? Does this happen on any other devices or only on this one? If you or someone you know has another comparable Samsung phone, test there if the same happens on the same app version.

Consider also performing a full clean reinstall. It's possible this is just some strange temporary hiccup and this can help clear that and get everything working as expected again.

Let us know how it goes.

What I mean is the Samsung back button still brings me back out of the folder, but it untoggles/unadds the song from playlist(s) that I added it to within the folder. Doing more troubleshooting, I found a weird interaction. If I use the Spotify button at the top left to back out of the folder, the changes will stay saved even if I go back in and use the Samsung back button to back out of it again. So it seems like it's some sort of save error.

I tried the clean reinstall and it didn't change anything.

I've also attached a video to show what's happening. I try adding a song twice in the video and in both attempts I start with the Samsung back button (you can see the Samsung ui indicator close to the top left) and then I follow it up by using the Spotify back button, showing that it stays saved when I go back in.

Hey @Lost_in_Reverie,

Thanks for following up and for send over more details.

We also had a look at the video you linked & your feedback on this is greatly appreciated! While we're unable to provide an exact timeframe for a fix at the moment, we suggest using the button within the Spotify app for now (when possible).

It's also worth keeping the device's OS & the Spotify app updated, to get new features and fixes as soon as they're released.

We're just a post away if you need anything else.

Cheers 🙂

I can confirm that i have the same issue on my Android device (Xiaomi Mi 11).

I have multiple playlists organized in folders.

When i navigate between them to add track and go back (to upper "folder" or root) app lose selected playlists.
