Access to Spotify favorites no longer possible via Apple Siri?

Solved!

Access to Spotify favorites no longer possible via Apple Siri?

Hi

Some days ago, when I said to Siri "Hey Siri, play my favorite songs on Spotify", it would do that. Now, as I retried today, Siri said "Spotify does not support this functionality". What happened?

Is there anywhere a setting I have to activate or have Apple or Spotify changed something here?

Hi @mwepfer56! Hope you're doing well! My name is Cassidy, and I would be more than happy to try to help you get back to taking your favorite songs on the go!

Have you tried these steps:

  • Check your settings: Go to Settings > Siri & Search. Make sure all options are toggled on, including "Listen for 'Hey Siri'" and "Allow Siri When Locked". You can also check that your iPhone isn't in Silent mode or Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • Check your VPN settings: Some VPN profiles may not allow Siri to work.
  • Restart your iPhone: If you don't see Siri & Search in your Settings, restart your iPhone.
  • Update your iPhone: Features like "Hey Siri" may not work as intended due to new software bugs. Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your device to see if one is available.
  • Check your microphone: Make sure your iPhone's microphone is clean and functional. If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, check that they're disconnected.
  • Log out and log back in: Log out and then log back in on your Spotify app.

Or from my understanding of this situation, I believe there's one last potential solution I can offer:

Supported devices

  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • iPod Touch running iOS 14 or above
  • Apple Watch running watchOS 6 or above
  • Airplay

I hope this little bit of info is able to help you. Let me know if I can help anytime!

Hi Cassidy

Thanks. Well, the problem was not with the iPhone, it was with the AirPod Max headphones. Well, it was only a temporary problem, one day later it was ok again. I just feared Apple changed something on their side, as a result of their ongoing dispute with Spotify.
