The search bar to browse playlists has been removed when you add a song to a playlist. This makes something that used to take 1 second, a whole minute, specially if you have a lot of playlists. I have 250 (most i probably dont check) but having to scroll to find the right one to add a song is seriously bad.
Thanks for the replies everyone!

Hey @o6nH,
Thanks for reaching out!
We moved your post out of the Idea section because the function you're looking for is still present on both the desktop and mobile app. Could you let us know what your affected device is and where it is exactly you're not seeing the search bar?
A screenshot would be of great help!
We'll be on the lookout for your response. Much appreciated 🙂
I am someone who literally makes playlists for a living so when i came on spotify and saw the search bar was gone, i felt like I was going crazy. Because WHY would spotify take away something that only makes its users lives easier?? What reason would there be for removing the option to search through your library? Please please please give us back our search bar! And soon! I already spend far too many hours on this app, and not having the search option would mean i may have to find another way to make playlists and to search through the endless amount of content in my library. I just don’t understand this at all.
Hi i have an iphone 15 and this issue is absolutely happening, and i highly doubt it is the fault of my device seeing as it is brand new and i got it less than one week ago. I’m attaching a screenshot. But basically i tried ‘adding to playlist’ from various places. From in my feed, from when i click on the track and then from the track’s profile page. I just used the search function a day or two ago so it definitely worked recently and i have never had this issue before. And yes, i have closed spotify and reopened it many times since. Please fix this if you can because i have hundreds of playlists and i would honestly lose my mind if this function doesn’t return. Thanks!
Hey there @andreacochran,
Thanks for getting in touch about this.
You mentioned that you tried closing and re-opening the app, but have you tried logging out from your account and logging back in? This should be repeated twice since it causes a trigger between your account and device. It's also worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
If the aforementioned steps don't do the trick, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your iPhone to check if they can replicate this?
Lastly, sending us the exact operating system and Spotify version of your iPhone would come in handy.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
after extensive discussion with spotify assistance, it seems the "find a playlist" search feature that was formally available in mobile iOS has been removed. it still works on desktop but is no longer available on mobile. I have a LOT of playlists, organized into folders, but still, the search feature was REALLY valuable when organizing my music.
they've replaced where it was on mobile with a tab that shows me what playlists a song is already in.
any advice on what to do now? spotify, why did you take this away from us on mobile?
if I can't sort my music easily into new playlists, I will probably switch to a different streaming service. I've been on spotify since.... 2010? really too bad that they've removed the most basic functionality.
Help! When I’m adding a song to a playlist I’ve previously had the option to search for the name of the list, this option has suddenly disappeared. Why is this?
Sorting alphabetically or by most relevant doesn’t help when you have over 400 lists in your library.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding a recent change in the Spotify iOS app. Previously, when adding a song to a playlist, there was a search bar that allowed users to quickly locate a specific playlist by typing its name. This feature was invaluable, especially for users like myself who maintain an extensive collection of playlists.
The removal of this search functionality has significantly impacted the efficiency of organizing music. Now, adding a song to a desired playlist requires manually scrolling through the entire list, which is time-consuming and cumbersome.
I kindly request that you consider reinstating the playlist search feature in the iOS app. Its absence has introduced challenges in managing my music library, and I believe restoring it would enhance the user experience for many Spotify subscribers.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Adding my name to the list of concerned subscribers trying to figure out what happened to an extremely helpful feature I've been using throughout the day every day, after an apparent update to the Spotify iOS app. Like another user above described, when previously adding a song to a playlist, there was a search bar that allowed users to quickly locate a specific playlist by typing its name. This feature was indeed invaluable to me and users like me who maintain extensive collections of playlists that are continuously being added to as new songs are discovered.
As stated perfectly by another user above, the removal of this search functionality has significantly impacted the efficiency of organizing music. Now, adding a song to a desired playlist requires manually scrolling through the entire list, which is time-consuming and cumbersome.
I join the ranks of those kindly requesting that you reinstate the playlist search feature in the iOS app. Its absence has introduced challenges in managing my music library, and I believe restoring use necessary to enhance the user experience for many Spotify subscribers and maintain Spotify's user base.

My Question or Issue
When I add to a playlist, the find playlist search bar does not show up.
The function shows up on my iPad (iPad pro iOS 16.4) logged into my account.
It’s available on a friends account that I logged into on my phone, it shows up on my friends phone when I log into my account.
i’ve tried updating the app fully, restarting the phone, logging out twice and logging back in, i’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it and logged in.
Update
In one of my downloaded playlists when I press the 3 dots and start to add it to another playlist it shows up again, but only in my downloaded playlists:
Did they give any reason on why? It seems so strange of the to remove a quality of life feature.
Same issue. First screenshot shows how it usually works and second screenshot shows the update that basically broke the functionality of adding songs to specific playlists. Didn’t realize how much I relied on it until realizing I can’t add songs to specific playlists anymore
Edit deleted this one reply as it as posted twice by accident
