Alphabet scroller takes me to wrong spot in list

The alphabet scroller on the right side of the lists of artists, albums, songs, etc. is supposed to bring me to the first entry in the list that starts with the letter I'm touching, but instead, it is bringing me to the second entry in the list that starts with that letter.

For example, here you can see the point in my Albums list (sorted by title) where my albums that start with M are located.

 

The first one is "Manafon" by David Sylvian, so if I use the alphabet scroller to navigate to M, Manafon should appear at the top of the screen under the "Albums" header. But instead, "Maroon" by Barenaked Ladies appears first and "Manafon" is hidden hunder the header. This used to work correctly, but broke at some point in the past couple of months.
