My Question or Issue

1. The queue has been broken but that's an ongoing issue. 

 

2. Podcasts are just slow. Click on a podcast. When will the page load? Immediately? 5 minutes from now? Who knows? 

 

3. The app crashes randomly now. Just stops working. 

 

Are there any fixes for these problems?

Do you mind providing us with more details about the issue with your queue? We're currently not able to confirm there's an ongoing issue with it and would like to take a closer look at this.

 

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your iPhone? We recommend this step as it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. It'll also get you the latest version of Spotify. These changes tend to solve issues like the one you're experiencing. Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app. 

 

It's also a good idea to try playing the podcasts under a different network connection. This way you can check if the issue might be related to your Internet connection. If it works with another connection, it's best to contact the service provider of the original network for more information. For example, some shared or public networks (e.g. schools/work/office) might restrict access to certain services, which would explain what happened here.

I've also tried the other suggestions many times. Home or work, WiFi or network, same problem. 

I have the same problem. The app crashes often when I listen to podcasts, especially when I have podcasts in the queue. When it crashes, I lose everything in my queue. I have an iPhone 12, iOS 16.2, and Spotify version 8.8.1.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

 

Just to confirm, does this only happen on your iPhone or on other devices as well? 

 

If it only happens on your phone, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, could you make sure that Spotify has all necessary permissions enabled?
 

  1. Open your Settings menu.
  2. Scroll to the bottom to find Spotify and open the app settings.
  3. Enable everything you see.

It's also a good idea to exclude the app from any Battery optimization software that might be active on your smartphone.
