Barely scrobbles to LastFM. Why?

The iphone app NEVER scrobbles to LastFM. That feature is enabled, and will SOMETIMES scrobble to LastFM if I am extremely lucky. Why is this?

Also, why are some albums available on the desktop client but not the mobile app?

I'm having the same problem with music not being available on mobile.  For example, when I'm home School for Seven Bells album Ghostory is available for me to play in Spotify.  When I search for it on my iPhone, it's not there.  I can't even sync it to my phone for some reason.

I'm finding the exact same problem, my current solution is, everytime I open the Spotify app, I toggle scrobble off and back on, seems to work every time, but a real pain though.

This has always been broken. They are aware of it (there was much discussion of it on the old Get Satisfaction support site) but obviously it's not a high priority to fix 😞

I have Spotify on 3rd Gen IPOD touch and scrobbling has never worked in any versions of the app.

Can't say I have ever had a problem with scrobbling from the iOS mobile app.  Maybe I am just lucky?

Ok, I think it depends how you use it.

If I listen to music using Spotify app while my ipod touch is connected to wifi then scrobbling works ok.

But mostly I listen to music off-line (in the car, on the train etc) and none of those track plays are scrobbled.

never works for me when away from wifi

been in the car for 5 hours today - in online mode with 3G most of the time. Listened to tracks all the time on Spotify; not one scrobble

It used to scrobble but since the last iPhone app update it won't scrobble properly.

Sometimes i get an offline scrobble from Spotify. For example, i might play 30 songs offline and the following day, one or sometimes two scrobbles might appear in last.fm. It's very erratic though - most of the times it doesn't happen at all.

I tried premium on a month trial and this issue stopped me from paying for it... sort it out Spotify; you'll have 1 new customer

Exactly the same with me. I only decided to subscribe from premium because of this feature. And I'm honestly thinking of stopping. FIX IT, SPOTIFY!

We just need a proper answer from the staff, does it cost too much for you guys?

Spotify mobile does not scrobble under iOS. Last.fm does not even pick up the song that is being played. After checking it seems the desktop application does not scrobble either. Scrobbling on the app is activated and Last.fm system status indicates all green so it's not a Last.fm issue.

Details: Ipad iOS version 6.1.3 (latest)

Spotify app 0.6.1.48
Spotify core: 0.0.0.999
