My Question or Issue

I was trying to listen to the new Blink album on my phone and i tap on the album and it has a list of songs but they aren't the tracks on the album. I tried looking at other albums and it was the same thing. They come up normally on desktop. What am I doing wrong? I'll add a picture. It doesn't show a list of songs that I can select. I tried selecting the same albums several times and that list of songs is different each time.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @CD0387,

Thanks for reaching out. This is quite strange, we haven't been able to replicate this so far. This issue is present only on mobile, is that correct? Could you try logging in with a different account (from someone you know or by making one yourself) and seeing if that helps? This will help isolate the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi,

Sorry. I was locked out of Spotify for a bit. It didn't fix my issue, but it's ok on an iPad. The first pic is of a playlist I made. The second pic is an album. You can see where it says and more. I can't tap on that. You can also se that there are songs listed that aren't on that album. This is also what it looks like while it's playing. It doesn't show the tracks. The last photo is another playlist and you can see where it saw we added under the track list. Everything is fine on my iPad. I did try deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Thanks

Cat

Hi @CD0387,

Thanks for the follow-up!

We can confirm that this is the current expected behavior: the mobile app for free users only supports previews for your or your friends' playlists, as well as in some Spotify-created ones. More info on what's different about Spotify's mobile experience for free users in this article.

Some further information on previews can be found here.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers!

So I can't listen to albums or playlists that I have created with out the stuff that has been added by spotify? If I want to listen to an album, I want only the songs on the album.

Thanks for the reply @CD0387!

You will probably hear or see some recommendations when listening an album or a playlist, as it's part of the free service.

If you like, feel free to have a look at this page for more info about the different plans and features available.

We're just a post away if anything else appears!

You might be misunderstanding me. If I want to play an album say American **bleep** pictured above. I have to listen to all the other songs Spotify throws in there? I can listen to just the album? If I make a play list I have to listen to what ever else spotify adds to it? If so, what's the point? I am not talking about ads or suggestions. I mean I try to play the album and other random songs are added to it. This only happens on my phone. On the iPad it's normal?

Hey @CD0387,

The iPad app's functionality resembles the desktop app in some ways.
Playing on demand is one of them. This is, however, not possible via the mobile client, which is the reason why your albums will have song additions on mobile when you're using the free tier of the app.

Hope this clears things up! We're here for you should any further questions come to mind 🙂
