Can only sync local files with iPod... HELP!

I've been using Spotfiy Premium for many months now.  Normally, I just purchase gift cards every month or three months as I need them.  This time however, I just ended up paying with my debit card.  Premium seems to be working on my account on my laptop, but now I can't sync my iPod Nano with Spotify music.  It will only sync my local files but nothing else.  I've tried everything I can think of.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Spotify content can only be synched to a device running the spotify applicatin which means that only local music can be synched to a Nano, I'm afraid. More information is in this post.
