Can't Tweet a track if you use Emoji characters in the Tweet

Can't Tweet a track if you use Emoji characters in the Tweet

If you try to share a track and include Emoji the Tweet will not send.

For example:

IMG_0168.PNG

The same tweet without those Emoji characters will send fine.  This is not really a Spotify error...  i've found this bug in ANY iOS6 app using the built in "Tweet Sheet".

I am hoping Spotify will take it seriously and pursue with Apple and Twitter.

Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, I believe this is because Twitter is incomatible with Emoji characters. This is because not all users have Emoji installed, so their devices/twitter would not recognise the characters, so it would look wierd for some people.

It would probably be best to post this on the Twitter and/or apple suppport forums, then they can look into perhaps indexing the characters on the Twitter servers, so everyone can recognise them.

Anthony 🙂

This was working from the time the Spotify app launched until just this week. You can Tweet with Emoji from several apps and it works fine. It's just if you Tweet using the TweetSheet in iOS6 with Emoji. Then it's rejected by Twitter. But it didn't used to be. This has only started this week.
