Can’t play “Liked songs” via group session

Can’t play “Liked songs” via group session

My Question or Issue

When connected to a group session (where I’m using my device to control/play songs on a different device), playing playlists works fine, but when I try play my “Liked songs” library, I’m immediately disconnected from the group session, and the other device pauses and just shows a “blank” player (i.e. no artist, track, cover art, etc.).

This doesn’t happen every time I try play a song, it’s somewhat intermittent, but I suspect it occurs when the target device is playing a song for the first time (i.e. it has no cached copy).

And before you ask:

  • This has occurred multiple times, over multiple group sessions, over multiple weeks
  • I’ve already tried a clean install
  • Both devices are using the latest version of the Spotify app (mine is 8.6.0.904)
  • I’ve repro’d this on multiple devices and accounts

Hi again @user-removed,

Thanks for reaching out.

As previously mentioned on a couple of threads you've posted, the Group Session feature is still in Beta. Take a look at our reply in this thread.

If you need anything else, give us a shout.

Cheers!

All good, I figured this was the right forum to log these beta bugs, so they get some visibility (and ultimately, remediation) from the dev team.
