Can't play local files that have been uploaded to my ipad

Can't play local files that have been uploaded to my ipad

I have done a sync with spotify and my local files are appearing but they are greyed out.  How can I play them.  I am connected to wifi on ipad and laptop so it looks like they did sync but they are not playable. I created a playlist and dropped them into it from local files.  Local files shows 0 if that is of any significance. Also, the songs will play on my computer just not on ipad.

Since you said there are 0 songs shown under local files, it sounds like they didn't sync.

 

 

The devices section will be coming back to the desktop app in a future update.

 

In the meantime:
You won't be able to see an indication in the desktop client that the device is paired with the desktop client. But as long as they both are on the same WiFi network you should be able to trigger the local files sync by toggling the offline toggle on the playlist on your device. Just make sure that the local files are in a playlist of their own so that this will work.

 

Make sure to turn on the offline toggle:
