Delete songs within a playlist using the search option

Why can't I just select a song and delete it from a playlist? And if I use the "edit" option the "search box" becomes unavailable. This is just dumb. 

Let's say, my playlist has 1000 songs and I want to delete a specific song that starts with the letter "R". I have to click on the edit button and scroll all way down to find that song and delete it. Dude this doesn't make any sense. Come on, it's simple to make the search box available while editing the playlist.
