Downloaded songs NOT taking up space on my iphone 5

Hi everyone, wonder if you can help me.

I've recently taken out a Spotify Premium subscription (loving it so far). I've noticed when I've downloaded numerous songs that when I got into my general phone settings it's saying the songs stored to the device is 0. This isn't really a bad thing if it's meaning downloaded songs aren't taking up space on my phone but can anyone shed any light on why downloaded songs don't seem to be saving to the phone device?

I'm also going on a long haul flight later this year and switched off my WIFI, my data roaming and put the phone into airplane mode and the downloaded songs were working. I'm assuming that means I won't have any issues playing downloaded songs on the plane?

Hope you are doing great!

Inside Settings>General>About you will get information only for the songs from the Apple's own Music app. 

Because no other app, on any other platform can open the songs of Spotify and in the case of iOS they can't even be viewed outside Spotify, it's counted as if you you had 0 downloaded songs 🙂
