I have a Premium account which i mostly access through my ipad.
I currently follow over 1000 artists but every time I click follow on a new artist it initially changes to ‘following’, however when I log out and go back in and look through my artist list I can see no trace of that group/individual. When I individually search for them again, the Follow button is available to me to select again even though I have already followed this process.
Is this a known problem just now?
Hi there!
I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.
If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?
I'll see what I can suggest next!
Hey @Pmooney67.
Thanks for getting back to us.
There is a limit of 10.000 items on Your Library. This applies to Songs, Artists and Albums combined. Do you think you have reached this limit?
You choose to save a selection of songs to a playlist to make room in Your Library.
Let us know if this is not the case or if you have further questions.
Have a nice day!
I have this same problem, I follow around 1365 bands/artists and just some time ago I deleted the albums as I like to wipe them out and start from scratch so it can't be some limits causing this one.
Reinstalls and such don't do anything and Im using the very latest version of the app.
On Windows 10 PC everything is fine, but if I use my iPhone or iPads then the same artist/band that I've sort of "always" followed don't seem to be followed and if I renew the following it won't stay (as if I close the app or boot the system it indicated that I don't follow that particular artist/band). I don't mind this too much but it's absolutely annoying as my alltime favorite band "Iron Maiden" won't stay followed on iPad and iPhone. So, definitely hope to see this one fixed soon.
Can anybody from Spotify look into this case? Please.
Here are my app versions that I currently have here:
8.5.6.630 (iPhone 6s)
8.5.6.630 (iPad Pro) and 8.5.6.630 (iPad 4th gen)
All the artists/bands I follow won't stay followed on any of these.
On Windows 10 client (1.1.6.113.gb388fe17) everything is working just fine.
Hey @user-removed.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this.
We just replied to a couple of other users in another thread concerning the same issue - make sure to check it out here and try what we suggested.
Feel free to update us here or in the other thread and let us know how you get on!
Hope that helps - speak soon 🙂
Thanks for the reply.
I decided to wipe all the followed artists/bands and now that I've been adding them back little by little, so far so good, it seems to be working just normally.
I haven't noticed anything out of ordinary happening but I will mention here if the it comes back..
