Having trouble saving local files from computer to phone

My Question or Issue

 I heard about adding local files from your computer to Spotify, and that you can add it to your phone as well. I added the songs to the playlist through the desktop app, and they appear in the playlist there. However, the songs don’t appear in the playlist on my phone, though both are on the same WiFi network and up to date on any updates for Spotify. I downloaded the playlist to my phone and on my laptop, and the songs still won’t show up. Did I miss a step, or is there anything else to check for?

Create a new playlist just with those local files. Add the files you want there from Local Files folder and wait for them to upload. Once done the playlist should appear in your phone, tap the … to mark that playlist for download. The files will be downloaded and saved to your phone. You can also read this FAQ to find out more about Local Files.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstallation of the app. Just follow the steps here. Make sure no firewall rules are blocking Spotify. 

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?
