I need help subscribing with iTunes

I am trying to subscribe through the 99 cents for 3 months deal, and whenever I tap upgrade on my phone it still says that it will cost $12.99 I am currently only able to subscribe using my iTunes gift card that I have. BOTTOME LINE: How can I take advantage of the 3 months for 99 cents deal by using my iTunes gift card?

unfortunately this deal is only available when you subscribe via Spotify, so unfortunately you cannot take advantage of this deal via iTunes 😞
