[IOS] [lightning cable] metadata isn't transmitted such as song name, artist etc

When using a lightning cable to connect to Toyota Corolla LE 2017, it seems that no metadata is transmitted such as the song name, artist. The album art does appear, however. But when I use Spotify connecting to Bluetooth the artist name and song title does appear apart from the album art.  

I tried to switch out the lightning cable to may see if that was the problem but it still occurs, could it be the car or is it my iPhone? I have an iPhone 7 Plus. 

I would not have this problem in my dad's car where he has a 2013 Toyota Highlander, everything would appear (artist name, song, album art) so I am not sure what the problem could be.
