Issues with the IOS app

Issues with the IOS app

So I have a premium account, and it works fine to play individual songs on the desktop software but when I try and play songs on the IOS app it tells me I need to be a premium account. I have a premium account I've tried several times to fix this by uninstalling the app, rebooting my phone, logging out of the app and nothing so far has worked

Hi, and welcome to the community!

Please note it can take some time for a premium subscription to activate across all devices.

1) Have you checked your Subscriptions page to make sure your account is successfully premium?
2) Does Spotify desktop say 'Spotify premium' at the top?
3) Make sure you're logging in with the right account; it's very easy to have both facebook and Spotify details!

Hi Anthony thanks for the response

I do not have a premium but an unlimited account and everything was working fine before this last update. I have changed my payment details to be sure and it wasn't that. I don't use facebook so it can't be that.

Does the unlimited subscription not allow you to stream playlists/individual songs?

Hi,

Ah yes, that explains it! A premium subscription is required for mobile usage. Unlimited gets rid of ads and allows you to stream as long as you want on desktop, but a premium subscriptionis required for everything else (phone usage, offline syncing, HQ streaming, and the features of unlimited).

Nope, you need Spotify Premium to stream your playlists on any mobile device so if you want to use a mobile device you need to upgrade.
