My Local files are refusing to sync. I've tried almost every possible method and nothing has worked. Problems started when I got my iPhone 13 but with my iPhone XR while not updated there were no problems for years. I'm doing everything the same and I'm not smart enough to fix it.
List of things I've tried:
- Firewall off
- Hotspot
- Clean reinstall on both devices
- Moving File Location
- Updating iOS
- Updating Spotify
- Adding available songs from Spotify to the playlist with local files
I Just tried force closing Spotify and it would start syncing but immediately say it was done without downloading a single song. 😕 😕 😕 I am having fun.
Tomorrow I will make a new source and playlist and clean reinstall again to see if that works please link me anything I may have not tried. I've been trying for months.
Hey @applejuice100,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far. As you're on an iOS device, make sure you've gone to Settings > Local Files and switched on Local audio files. You'll also need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows.
Also, have you tried to sync a track downloaded from a different source to check if it makes any difference?
Lastly, when you play one of those songs from the device that has the local files, could you see it via Connect in your iOS device?
We'll be on the lookout for your next response.
Sorry for the late reply but nothing works I don't know what to try
Log in on your mobile or tablet using the same WiFi as your desktop. Go to Settings --> Local Files and switch on Enable sync from desktop. Note: You need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows. Download the playlist with your local files.
I share applejuice100's pain. I too have tried all of the above. I can see the playlist on my mobile and I can see the list of songs (if I have "Hide unplayable Songs" turned off). Local Files on iphone 13 is turned on but it refuses to see my laptop (Windows). There is no prompt for me to enable sync from desktop. It shows "No devices are currently available for syncing". Local Network is on in iPhone settings. Have tried tethering laptop to iPhone, have tried wifi. And tried all the other options; update, reinstall, download, etc.. Files are mp3.
Hey there folks,
Thanks for the posts.
You should make sure that your computer is discoverable on your home network. Also, make sure that your WiFi network is set to Private and not Public, as local files won't sync on most networks marked as Public for security reasons.
Hope this helps.
