Local Files Won't Sync to iPhone 5

I tried to sync a few songs from my local playlist but they wouldn't sync to my iPhone. I tried shutting it off and turning it back on, logging in and logging out, everything but it didn't work. Then I tried uninstalling the app but when I reinstalled it none of my local files even resigtered with it (over 100+ songs). The music shows up on my computer but when I click local files on my phone it says there are none. I've tried everything and I don't know what else to do. Please help.
