Local Files stopped showing up on iPhone

iPhone 8/MacBook Pro

iOS 13.4.1/macOS 10.13

 

My Question or Issue

I wanted to download a song as a local file onto my account (which I've done before and it has worked every other time) and once I did so, I tried to sync it with my phone and all of the local files I had on my phone disappeared. I tried a clean reinstall but that didn't work (I followed this thread as well). I've also connected my computer to my phone via hotspot as well as through USB and those didn't work either. All of the local files are in one playlist on my computer and the playlist appears on my phone but it says there are no songs in the playlist (shown in the picture attached). If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!

Just to confirm, did you try a clean reinstall on both devices? If not, make sure to follow the relevant steps for your devices as they're listed here.

 

If that doesn't do the trick, could you try transferring the local files over to a new playlist on your desktop device and seeing if they appear on the mobile app? You might have to close and re-open the app on both devices for the new playlist to sync up.

I did a clean reinstall on both my phone and computer and it didn't work at first. I deleted and reinstalled the phone app 3 times and now it finally worked. I'm not too sure why this happened, but thank you for your help Peter! I appreciate it 🙂
