Locking phone and increasing volume causes volume to max out.

Locking phone and increasing volume causes volume to max out.

Hello everyone,

I have had this issue for quite a while, now. My phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I use iOS Version 17.5.1.

Whenever I have the Spotify app open, and I lock my screen while simultaneously increasing the volume of my device, the volume maxes out.

As a default, I have my volume off. When I open Spotify and select a song, I often lock my screen and then increase the volume using the buttons on the side of my phone right after. When I click the button twice or more, the volume goes straight to the maximum which always scares the bejesus out of me and can't be good for my ears.

How can I fix this? Thank you!

Hi there @laraswanborn,

Thanks for your post here in the Community and welcome!

Firstly, does this happen when listening to music directly on your phone? Or does it happen when listening to any external device, such as speakers or headphones?

If this only happens on your phone, it's best to clean reinstall the app to make sure everything is up-to-date and working correctly. No worries, you won't lose any content, but you might have to download your offline music again if you have Premium.

If the issue persists, would you mind sending us a video recording of this behavior? You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it. Additionally, send over the Spotify version you are currently running.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
