Mixed languages on Home of the iOS App

Mixed languages on Home of the iOS App

Plan: Premium Family

Device: Iphone 12

Operating System: iOS 16.5.1

 

My Question or Issue

My Spotify is set in English, but since few weeks the language in the Home section of the App is a mix of English and Russian, all the settings show in English, but within the App sections are named in Russian (attached screenshot).

 

Actions already taken:

I went to Settings – Languages – App Language – which sends me to my iphone Spotify settings where preferred language is English.

I already uninstalled and reinstalled the App.

None of the above worked.

 

Has anyone experienced the same issue and can help me fix it?

Hi, i have a similar issue but on the Apple Watch app, suddenly it has switched from Italian to English...

Thanks for reaching out. Can you please confirm if only one of your devices is affected? If you haven't tested on other devices please do so. Try the webplayer too. Try changing the language of the affected device to something else and then back to the desired one and see if that prompts the app to resync.

Only my iPhone is affected, webplayer shows everything in English.

I just tried to change languages, and i confirm everything changes but the Russian headlines, which remain in Russian in every language i changed.

 

 

Hi! I know that is not the same issue but since this topic is about the app language... for me the iOS app is still correctly in Italian, I tried to change the language of watchOS to English, reopen the app, switch back to Italian and reopen the app again but it still remains in English. By the way, thanks for finally adding a scrollable list of stuff to listen directly on the watch instead of only a few items 🙂

Hey @thomasbentivi,

 

Could you try removing your cached data and restarting your app afterwards to see if that makes a difference?
And @thebertozz, could you try switching your app language to English and then back to Italian?
If that doesn't fix the issue, try re-pairing your watch to the mobile device while keeping the language setting to Italian 🙂

Thanks for the help, I cleared the cached data, restarted the app and it didn't solve the issue, so after clearing the cache I also tried again to uninstall and reinstall, but didn't help either. 😞

That's very odd indeed. Let's try to get to the bottom of this.


Would you mind creating a new free account for testing purposes to see if the issue would be present there as well?
In case it is - we'd possibly be dealing with a device issue.
If not - then it'll most likely be account-related 🙂
