My iPhone 6 will only play full songs in shuffle mode..?!

My Question or Issue

 Only a short clip of songs will play "on demand" with iPhone whereas on iPad, no problem! I can only seem to play songs in their entirety in shuffle mode.

Is this some sort of restricted feature in the free version on my phone? If so, why is it not a problem on my iPad? Am I missing something?

Anyone else notice this and perhaps know the logic behind this or maybe even the fix?

Yes, the shuffle only mode on mobile is a restriction of the free plan. This restriction is mostly for phones, so I think the Ipad does not have it. You can read more about the difference between free and premium here.
