My listening history randomly stopped updating, how do I fix it?

So i decided to check my listening history and found out that for at least coupe hours it didn't update even though i was listening to a lot of music in that timeframe. From what I can gather, the mobile listening history does not update at all, the dekstop only updates with the songs i was listening on the desktop app. How do i fix this? I already tried logging out, but it only worked for the first time - one more song got added to the history and nothing else, still not updating, tried swtiching networks, listening on the web app etc.

hey @gorfr, it  seems to be a technical issue. Can you try to update the app to the latest version? Reinstall and uninstall. 

From what you explained, this is only happening on your mobile device?  What device do you use? Is the OS up to date too? 

For me, the listening history updates every 24 hours on iPhone.

recently played isn’t working again I just wanna flex my music bruh

The songs I listen to do not appear in the playback history or they take a long time to appear, not all of them appear, being online in the desktop app (windows) and in the Android app, I listen to them in full

I have the same issue where it’s randomly stopped recording songs in recently played in the last hour

Yes this issue is linked also with the “Recently Played” artist section. That also isn’t updating. It was was an issue (with recently played) we had 4 weeks ago, got fixed within a week but again is playing up. Think they are linked.

Same here. This issue had been ongoing for almost all our users since Oct 9, approximatively 14:00 UTC. It is still ongoing.

 

Songs may appear after several hours. They do not necessarily appear in order they were originally played.

Hello hello, so idk if this happened to anyone yet but im jaut having my standard listening routine and out 5 artists so far 2 have updated (the latest) but previous ones are nowhere to be found. I hate this sh*t, i get there are technical difficulties but i also prefer looking at the artists I played while im listening if that makes sense

Over a sample of several thousands users, the rate of new songs is strongly decreasing since Oct 9, 14:15UTC. This issue is still ongoing from what we see.

The songs don't appear on history and don't count as been streamed after streaming, only many hours after

it looks like the issue is still sort of happening to me. yesterday evening (about 10 PM GMT+3), it looked like everything was fine, but then i fell asleep playing music and the recording of history stopped at 2 AM while i stopped playing music only at 8 AM... what is weird, i'm playing music again right now and the history is being recorded more or less fine. almost like spotify only records streaming history while you look at it so you don't go report to support about it anymore lol. but it still shows me that streaming history is not fully fine yet, am i supposed to stare at my phone screen for hours just to make sure it works properly? i don't know what spotify team did to the app, but they've butchered this function completely.
