My playlist won't play in the order in which it appears

I have two playlists right now that won't play in the order in which they appear, both on my Android and on my laptop. I'm not sure how to fix this. So, for example, the playlist will appear in this order on the screen:

Roar -- Katy Perry

Halo -- Beyonce

Applause -- Lady Gaga

Wild -- Jessie J

But then it will play Applause first, then Roar, then Wild, then Halo.

How can I fix this?

This might be a silly question but do you have the shuffle option set to on? 

Its in the bottom right corner of the screen in the desktop client and you can find it in the "i" button on the now playing screen on iOS.

To make sure you don't have the shuffle feature on, on ios at least, when you are on the play/pause screen, click the 3 bars in the top right hand corner. That will take you to the "next from:" screen. From here, see if the overlapping arrows in the bottom left corner are green. If they are, your shuffle feature is on. Just click on the arrows to turn this off.
