Not advancing to next track

My Question or Issue

 When I play a playlist (any playlist) Spotify doesn't automatically advance to the next track. It seems to 'stick' at 1 or 2 seconds before the end. I then have to manually press skip. 

I've tried deleting and re-installing the app, Playing with and without shuffle, with and without gapless playback, with and without crossfade, different qualities of stream, on wifi and 4G, with phone locked and unlocked. 

Any other suggestions?
