My Question or Issue
In New Releases I see only old albums released in 2021.
Hey @buckthorn,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!
This sounds odd and we'll do our best to help you out here.
Could you try to log out > restart your device > log back in to see if that makes any difference for you?
It's also a good idea to try clearing your cache to remove any old files that might be causing issues with the app's performance.
On another note, does this happen on other mobile devices as well, for example you can try logging in on a friend's or a family member's account to see how it goes?
Keep us posted,
Cheers
Thanks for answering!
Unfortunately none of this helped - there are the same old albums. Also those albums are on another account and device on my Duo Plan.
Hey @buckthorn,
Thanks for getting back to us!
In this case, we'd recommend reinstalling the app on the affected devices. This should help you solve this. It'll also get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and fixes and will remove any corrupted files from previous installations.
Keep in mind that you'll need to re-download your offline music and podcasts afterwards.
If the issue persists after reinstallation, could you try also with a different Wi-Fi network to see if it makes any difference? In case you don't have another available, you can ask a friend or a family member to start a mobile data hotspot to and use that network to test.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi Lyubka!
Thaks for helping, but none of this helped. I see a playlists with compilation of new tracks, but I still can't see new albums.
Hey there @buckthorn,
Thanks for the post.
I've taken a look at the albums you get suggested, and indeed they aren't released recently, but artists like Paul McCartney and The Offspring don't have newer albums. In the new releases section you get recommendations only for artists you follow. So if you won't get recommendations for newer albums by musicians you don't listen to. In order to mix things up I'd suggest following a few more artists, to refresh the algorithm.
Hope this helps.
Alex, thanks for answering!
So, I've followed a God Is An Astronaut from the beginning, for example. But I cant see there new album "Somnia" - I see the track from this album only in the "New Friday Music" playlist.
Also, as tou can see, all this albums were released in 2021. So, that's why I think this is a bug
It's not a big problem, but I have to go to other sources to find out all new releases. And it's inconvenient
Hi there @buckthorn,
Thanks for the reply.
I know it can be a bit inconsistent some times. I've passed on your feedback on to the content teams at Spotify.
These playlists update automatically over time, so I can't say for sure when your playlist is going to update with more recent releases, but what you can do is follow artists you're currently listening to, as this has the biggest effect on your recommendations algorythm.
Cheers.
Alex,
I have problem with new albums, not playlists 🙂 And the problem that I see an old albums from artist I didn't follow. And all these albums are 2021 - I think it's so oddly 🙂
Anyway, thanks, I hope this problem will disappear some day 🙂
Hey @buckthorn,
Thanks for your reply.
In case we need to report this, can you please let us know when this issue first started?
Cheers!
Hello, MihailY!
Since September, but I'm not sure. And this bug repeats every week - playlists with new songs are updated and list of albums is not.
Thanks, I hope this little problem will be fixed soon.
Hi there @buckthorn,
Thanks for the reply.
We've passed this on to our content teams. We'll let you know here as soon as we have more info.
Cheers.
Hey there,
Our tech team needs the Spotify version numbers you're using. Could you share those?
Cheers!
Dian,hi!
App version is 8.7.84.360. I've seen the bug at version 8.7.68.568
Hey folks,
Thank you for your patience.
Since a new version of the app was recently released, some users have reported the issue as fixed. Taking this into consideration, would you mind checking if the issue is still persistent for any of you?
If so, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating your case.
We'll be on the lookout.
OscarDC, hello!
I still see old albums in "New releases" and only one new album of artist I didn't follow.
App version is 8.7.90.459
Hello @OscarDC
I have updated the app for the most recent version in my App Store: 8.7.90.459 and still not showing the new releases.
OscarDC, hello!
I think that problem mat be related to the fact that my account was registered in Russia in July 2020
Hi folks,
Thanks for the info.
Can you let us know if you see the playlist updating on your Desktop app or is it stuck both on Mobile and Desktop for you?
Cheers.
