Playback queue changing order

Playback queue changing order

My Question or Issue

Currently I am listening to all of my liked songs in alphabetical order, so my liked songs page is set to sort by Title and to play in that order.

Any time the music is interrupted (by an alarm, phone call, video, plugging my phone into my cars’ aux, etc) I have to hit play again after the interruption rather than the music automatically resuming.
When I do hit play, the song plays as normal, but then the next song (which should be the next in the list alphabetically) does not play. Instead, the queue has reverted to the “recently added” order and I have to go into the app and manually choose the song that should have played. Once I do this the queue is once again in alphabetical order and stays like that until the next “interruption.”

This is the most annoying when I go to play music in my car as the playback has never paused when plugging in the aux, much less changed the queue order because of it.

This issue began a few days ago but I can’t say for sure what day, and this happens every time there is an “interruption.”

Hi there @ambiguouslyqueer,

Thanks for the post.

This is most likely happening because you have items previously loaded in the queue. Try the following:

  1. Clear queue before playing a new playlist/ song.
  2. Make sure that the Enhance option is switched off. (Mobile app).
  3. Make sure that the Shuffle option is switched off.

Hope this helps.

  1. The queue always reflects the order I want (alphabetical without shuffle) until an “interruption” happens, that’s when it randomly switches back to the “recently added” play order
  2. Enhance is switched off
  3. Shuffle is switched off

Hi @ambiguouslyqueer,

Thanks for the info. Does this happen on any other devices besides the afforementioned iPhone? If you haven't tested this, please do so. What Spotify Version are you using? Also send us a video showcasing the behaviour so we can investigate further.

Keep us posted.
