Podcasts downloading super slowly

Whenever I try to download podcasts, they download extremely slowly for no reason at all. I have tried restarting phone e, reinstalling Spotify, going into airplane mode and back out, but it still takes like an hour to download 1 episode. Music and songs will download normally, but podcasts will take forever. What can I do to fix this? Please help!

How long do the podcasts go for?

The podcasts are about an hour long each

I also have this issue, and it is for the Spotify app only - I have other podcasts apps I use where the download takes 1 minute, but for Spotify exclusives it can take up to an hour for each 1-hr episode. Sometimes I have to restart the download 3-5 times. It also only saves progress in a podcast about HALF of the time. Really not happy, and my favorite pods are Spotify-exclusive.

Same issue here with iOS 14.7.1 on iPhone 11 Pro with app version 8.6.58.1030.

Each podcast is ~45min long and it takes up to an hour to download it.

If you're experiencing this issue still, we'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app, as described in this Guide.

Same its taken me 12 days to download 15 podcasts

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, have you performed a clean reinstall by following the steps mentioned in this article as suggested previously by @Alex to see if it makes any difference?

If so and the issue persists, would you mind trying with a different Wi-Fi network? If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.

Lastly, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.

Tried everything above, no luck. Problems started 3 days ago. I am using Iphone 13, version 17.5.1.

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you share what you've tried so far so that we can make sure we're not missing something? It'd also be great if you can confirm what exactly is happening - is it just longer episodes that are downloading slowly and does this happen with all shows or just specific ones? 

You can also check if you have enough free space on your phone and ask someone to log in their account on your phone and try downloading a podcast to check if they're experiencing the same issue.  Sharing the exact Spotify version you're running would be very much appreciated as well.
